Penthouses have hit the headlines since Meghan Markle held her baby shower in North America’s largest and most expensive hotel suite, spanning over 10,000 square feet and costing a cool $75,000 per night. The Marks Hotel’s penthouse comes with 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms including a steam room, a dining room that seats 24, a grand piano and a 2,500 square foot terrace overlooking Manhattan’s skyline. Oh and of course your own personal butler.
The London hotel scene never seems to go stale whether it’s re-opening, refurbishments or new openings. The Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge finally made its grand reveal after a devastating blaze tore through the hotel last June 2018. However, it was certainly worth the wait with the impressive entrance and lounge graced with beautiful glass chandeliers.
One Aldwych is another beautiful structure about to open its doors this spring. This hotel is a true landmark in London’s Convent Garden. Vintry and Mercer in the City of London just opened a 92 bedroom hotel. You can choose from private balconies or floor to ceiling windows with suites offering skyline views.
Another newcomer is the 42 storey mixed use skyscraper in Stratford. The Stratford, a hotel with 145 light-filled guestrooms and a communal sky garden. The hotel will be a social-centric one, hosting yoga classes and spirit tastings.
It’s all about experiences.
